Cumulus clouds are fluffy and piled up. Cumulus is from the Latin cumulus, which means heap or mass. They only form in warm weather.  Usually mean good weather unless cumulonimbus clouds start to form.
Altocumulus are the patterned clouds that fill the sky. These clouds don't always signify a change in weather. When seen in the morning, however, they usually mean rain within 24 hours.

Cumulonimbus clouds are the big, tall clouds that get very dark. They indicate a thunderstorm, which may include strong winds and hail, is on the way.
