Wind

In the United States weather usually moves from west to east, but local winds influence weather enormously. Become familiar with the conditions where you live. Winds blow towards a thunderstorm. Wind accompanying a fall in barometric pressure indicates bad weather is approaching.

Wind also affects how cold the air feels on bare skin.  For example at 0°F the temperature feels like -5°F when the wind is blowing at 5 MPH, but it feels like -54°F when the wind is blowing at 40 MPH.
