Weather

People have been trying to predict the weather for thousands of years. Not only did they want to know when a storm was approaching, they also wanted to know whether to expect a warm or cold day, or rain or sunshine.

So how can we forecast the weather?
Methods people have used, and continue to use, include the following:

	Weather Proverbs
	Observations of weather patterns and of clouds, wind, and other natural phenomena.
	Basic instruments such as the thermometer, barometer, and hygrometer.
	Modern tools such as computers and satellites.
